I have shot a bunch of corrosive Chinese ammo in my Sar 1. After shooting I use warm soapy water to clean the boar and then a regular cleaning. Haven’t noticed any problems.

The chrome is in there to help the bore stand up better against whatever abuse you choose to deal it.. Not cleaning promptly after shooting corrosive ammo would qualify. The gas system isn't chromed though.

I'd worry about the gas system and the chamber area too. I shoot corrosive at times, but only when I know I will have time to do a thorough cleanup with ammonia based window cleaner and then a modern solvent, followed with light oil.
