Does anyone know for a true, scientific fact whether or not current production Wolf and Barnaul 5.45 X 39 are corrosive or not?

And if so, how corrosive?

Thanks all.

Well, I last shot my 2 5.45 AKs on Friday.  I have just cleaned them.  We have had an average humidity of about 80% every day since.

If they were going to rust, they would have by now.

I would have told you that the ammo is non-corrosive any way, but this is the most scientific as I can get.

As a side note, there are no levels of corrosiveness.  Ammo is either corrosive or not.

TCW is not corrosive. barnaul and Wolf are Not corrosive. BUt Roumnanian 545 , I had a case of it,  is corrosive , but very accurate. USE Windex  to clean bolt face , gas tube and  gas port   when you finish shooting at the range . Thne normal, cleaning whne you get home .

The Romanian is really Uly.  Russian military enhanced penetration ammo.  It is corrosive, as is all Russia military ammo.

You will not see much of this if ever.  Accuracy is poor.
