I called and got shipping price, $24/case to Tulsa, OK. They also charge 3% for CC/debit card, not too big of a deal because I get 2% cash back anyway.
Its an ass backwards operation there for sure. Had to send in a document and my DL to buy ammo, and then call in the order because I couldn't get their junky website to work. A lot of work to buy ammo, but I haven't seen 7.62x29 for $175/1k shipped in a while. Bought two cases. |

Sportsmans Guide is allowing backorders on wolf 7.62x39 at old prices (~24cpr). Might be worth rolling the dice and seeing if it ever gets filled, as I expect we will be over 30cpr for a long time. Nothing lost if they cancel your backorder.

Emailed Sportsman's Guide to get confirmation that prices are locked in on backorder orders
They confirmed that as long as the orders remain active they will be fulfilled at the price when order is placed. Does leave the door open to backdoor cancellation by them, but no stealth price jump when the order is filled. So yes, backordering some ammo is no risk |

I picked these up at the local Base Exchange yesterday - $5.99 a box for the Red Army Standard and $6.99 for the Tula. The gentleman at the gun counter said that no one is interested in 5.45x39, so he had a decent amount in stock and no limit on purchase quantity. I used to think of AAFES prices as being a little high, but since they don't really change, they now seem reasonable in the current market. No sales tax or shipping is a big plus. Just wanted to share this in case any military folks here have an exchange nearby they might want to check out.
