This is the underfolder trunion I got with my Polish kit... I guess they don't centerpunch the rivets before drilling.

If I do a good rivet job, will I have to worry about the trunion wobbling around in the receiver, or should I weld the holes shut and re-drill?

You'll probably be ok.  Rivets will expand and should fill in the egg shaped hole.

Do you have a welder handy?  I would weld in that badly egged hole and reshape it.  Why not if you have easy access to a welder.  It would only take a minute.  If not I would think you would be just find riveting it like it is.  It's not like all the holes are bad.
