Howdy, In Afghanistan, just picked up a couple of very nice AK74's that I'm upgrading for better fit (I'm a contractor).

Took the two screws out of the stock (top side). One outside of the reciever, and the other inside. Looks like it should slide out, but nothing seems to be working. The wood portion that stick into the receiver isn't budging...any ideas, or am I just clueless?

Thanks for any help.

Pat

Make sure you took all the screws out first. Next what I did was took out some aggression on a pillow. Just grab the gun and start beating it on a bed or pillow. It loosened up the wood enough on one of mine.

another option is to use a socket extension and a hammer and tap it out from the inside.
