Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Duracoat on a Romy G kit: What color?

I'm looking to buy Duracoat finish for my Armory receiver.  I see two types of black that I could potentially use:

  Semigloss Black (HK)
  Matte Black

I plan on finishing only the receiver and was wondering if anyone knew what color was closest to the finish on the rest of the rifle.

i would vote for matte black.

Either one will look fine-for the old school AKM look use matte black, for the newer AK100s use semi gloss.

I have done 2 ak's in HK black duracoat, they look great with refinished wood furniture.

Alright, thanks for the advice.  I've got a 4 oz. bottle of finish but i've read on other forums that you have to dilute it with a hardener.

 A) Is this necessary?
 B) What ratio would be apppropriate?
