Several of us are going to finally work on doing some builds this winter and I have a question.  Does the barrel have to be out of the trunnion to properly rivet it in place?  In all the pictures I have seen, it looks like the inside of the rivet is covered by the barrel when it is pressed in.  Am I wrong??

You have to remove the barrel to rivet the trunnion into the receiver. If you do the screw method you don't.

i've riveted with the bbl. in and with the bbl. out of the trunnion.

for riveting againt the bbl., i simply used longer rivets that i trimmed to suit in the lathe.

the bbl. is nothing but a bucking bar that's .010"-.015" more clear of the trunnion than a bucking bar would be.

Thanks Campy and romak, I kinda figured that that would be the case.

We have 10 receivers on order and will be collecting kits soon.
