I've read that the OOW units had, as the primary dimensional problem (this is not a heat-treat thread!) the safety/selector hole 1-2mm low.

I've recently seen a photo of a Polish AKMS build on the OOW/ITM receiver, and the selector, in the SAFE position, clearly did not mate/seal the gap between receiver and topcover.

Is there a fix for this during the build process, some sort of shim or bushing? Is this a defect on ALL the OOW 7.62 units? Is OOW correcting this?  The receivers seem like a good deal, otherwise (I've read all the heat treat threads...)

Thank you.

Thanks CAMPYBOB.  That said, what would you diagnose the cause of the problem pictured here (link since I can't post pics) and how would you cure it?

Not my rifle.
