That little secret compartment, hidden in the buttstock of your AR-15?  What do all you guys use that for?

Mine's perfect for holding my driver's license, a couple of condoms, some doobies and a few extra rounds of ammunition.  Everything I need to PAR-TAY!

Just kidding, guys!

Actually, I use mine for my Sinclair Intl. AR-15 Cleaning Link and an oil rag wrapped in a plastic sandwich bag.  - Kind of boring, huh?  What about you?

I hadn't thought of earplugs.
Here's what I've come up with.
For storage; what I mentioned.  The Cleaning Link always stays with the gun, the oil cloth because it can be used to wipe off fingerprints each time I take the rifle out of its case for whatever.
For trips to the firing range; Cleaning Link,  Dewey style jag end, brush w/male to female adapter & loop end.  .22cal. patches, small CLP w/snap cap.
I don't think I want to store anything that can "weep" inside of the buttstock.
Is there anyone else out there with any good ideas on what you can use this little compartment for?  I doubt that anyone seriously uses it for a G.I. cleaning kit.  At least not for the multi piece cleaning rod.

One ounce shot of JD. Then the shooting gets better! NOT! GI cleaning kit and patches. Couldn't resist either.

G.I. cleaning kit and little tiny copy of Form 4 for the M16A1 needs to be stuffed back in.

You could stuff a very usable sized C-4 charge and a blasting cap and a decent length of det cord in there, just in case...

I use it to keep my Fort Benning Registration Form in it.  I have to have it when ever I remove it from the house.  So, I won't get put in jail...lol  The Army is stupid sometimes.

A few extra rounds that are taped together so that they don't rattle.

Snickers bar is good, but an M&Ms bag will shape better to the compartment.

Do you think the M&M's would rattle?

I have the issue cleaning kit stuck in mine, along with a little bottle of CLP. Also, I have the trap door pistol grip I through various spare parts in.

All the BS California Assault Weapon Registration paperwork so it will be handy when challenged by some idiot LEO anxiously looking for some reason to confiscate my rifles.

Me too, minus the GI bottle. I replaced it with a store bought bottle of CLP.
