Trying to figure out how to solve the non fires with my 5.45 AR build.

I replaced the hammer spring with one of those wolf extra power ones, this helped but not completely.

I am using standard Wolf steel cased 5.45 ammo. Probably 1 out of every 4 rounds will not fire. All other parts are just standard AR parts, not sure what else I need to do in order to solve this. Hammer spring is installed correctly.

awesom... funny I thought about longer firing pins last night and then totally forgot about it by the morning.

I don't wana sound pompous but....

The ar15 was designed for soft primers of American 5.56

Even with the Wolff extra power spring that's really pushing it.

The 5.45 is for glorious Soviet hammer smack from crude Tula spring comrade'

Sand off some of the material on the collar of the firing pin. In doing so the firing pin head will protrude more out the bolt causing more effective primer strike. Do not take off alot of material just a polish, chuck it on a cordless drill and use the bench polish wheel to take off a little material. I have done this to all my ar47 and has been effective with the use of the extra power hammer spring from wolf.
