Just took my first build out for a test run with serveral types of ammo and had 1 in 3 fail to fire with some federal xm193. All the american eagle 55 grain stuff and the winchester white box fired fine. I had primer dents on the xm193 and  1 or 2 fired the second time but the rest would not go off. The wolf also shot fine when it wouldn't fail to feed. Is it a problem with hard primers on the federal or do I have a weak hammer spring.

For a first build project, verify the hammer spring is installed correctly (not backwards, legs on top of trigger pin).

Hammer spring is sitting on top of trigger pin.

Is this a stock tirgger or is it a match type?

Is the spring on backwards? That "loop" should be on the back of the hammer (facing the shooter). When cocking the hammer, the hammer spring should be "compressing" in the direction of the windings.

A backwards hammer spring may have the loop in the front or back, but with the coil spring stretching out as you cock the hammer.

Was the hammer spring on backwards? You can tell us - it'd also help out anyone in the future who may stumble upon your thread experiencing the same problem.
