I have an M4 with KAC RAS II free-float rail. After my first 400rds +/- , the nut that secures the rail (NOT the barrel nut) has loosened up. When I originally put it together I used blue Loc-tite to avoid the problem. I'm afraid if I try to tighten it up too tight, I'll loosen up the barrel nut since the 'rail' nut tightens in the left-hand direction(I've seen this happen before). Help...........

jivem, Did you thoroughly degrease and dry the nut and shaft before applying the LocTite?

Negative. I used a shop rag and wiped threads clean, but did NOT degrease it. Sounds like real simple advice looking back on it. I suppose my only solution without removing the front sight again is to clean as much thread as I can and re-Loctite it right?..........

I thought you didn't have to remove the front sight to install a RAS II.

My apologies....I have a RAS I. Sorry for the confusion. I evidently thought of the RAS II when I was thinking about the free-float of my RAS I screw on rail. I think Tweak knew what I was refering to. jivem
