Just had a quick question on space necessary between barrel nut and gas tube.  I'm building my first upper with an SLR handguard/barrel nut and noticed that the gas tube touches ever so slightly.  Huge issue, or torque it down and rock and roll?

It is 100% normal, absolutely a non-issue.

If your gas tube indexes with the key good and does not wear abnormally then it is ok.
