My first build of a completed lower
RRA stripped lower and LPK Borrowed Magpul BEV and armorer's wrench from buddy, ordered roll pin holders and punches from Brownells. Used the Brownell's video guides as my template and cross checked with two other only sources for how to do each step. Took it nice and slow, took about 3 hours. But no scratches on the receiver. Only thing I did wrong was dry fit the upper pivot pin while the spring but not the detent was in place, the pivot pin couldn't be removed without mucking up the spring but I had some spares on hand Attached File |

I added a Geissele SSA-E, A Rainier Arms Match 18" barrel with Wylde chamber and 1:8 twist rate, and a ALG V0-E handguard. I am sure I will add much more to the build, but for right now that it all. IMHO, you could use some dark gray and medium brown to help some of the light sand areas break up a bit more. Just don't go over the top of the contours, they are optimal in your outline. As in, don't break the round parts that are on top of the rifle: stock, scope, and rails. You only need a sliver of coverage area on the large sand color parts. Also, consider doing the muzzle brake, flash light and tape switch. Great example of a very well thought out design! Very well done! |
