I have seen them in their catalog and always wondered........WHY?

Is there an advantage to a SS lower?

I built a rifle for a customer a few years ago using a DPMS S.S. lower, it was a real P.O.S. It was the worst cast lower i have ever seen. EVERY hole in that rec. was out of spec. I dont know if they have improved the quality on the S.S. lower, but i would not waste my money on one.  PATRIOT ARMORY 07 FFL

I had one, it had a tight magwell (that Dpms fixed).  If I could go back in time I would have just bought a normal lower.  No real reason for having one other than if you wanted the extra weight.

I believe they are discontinued as of a couple years ago.
