MP inspected bolt worth the extra money?

If it has has been proof fired & then magnetic particle inspected;yes. Magnetic particle inspected only;no.I'm not a cool-aid drinker, but I like Colt bolts because they are proof fired then magnetic particle tested. Some of the bolts you see for sale on the EE advertise to be magnetic particle tested, but not proof fired. Without being proof fired I see no value in magnetic particle testing by itself.

These are my opinions, I'm sure there will be others.

Roger on both of the above.

There are no bolts other than MP C marked pieces on any of my ARs, no matter who made all the other pieces.

CMT bolts are advertised as being marked MPI. They say they are magnetic particle inspected, but no mention whatsoever that they are proof fired first.

When Colt or FN marks their bolts, the M means mag. particle inspected, the P means it was fired with a proof round. The letter C or F stands for the manufacturer.
