Finally picked up my RRA stripped lower today. Not to happy with the finish on it. The RRA lowers that I've seen on the board here and also the dealer pics in their ads look way better.

Could you all tell me if this is the norm for RRA stripped lowers of should I expect better?? Pics posted below. I haven't contacted the dealer that sent this yet, as I wanted to hear what you all have to say first. Was piecing a whole RRA rifle together, but not if the upper is going to look like this!

Put some oil or clp on it and it will look much better.
i have bought a couple of rra lowers and they looked like that, until the oil or clp treatment.

I don't see anything wrong. You're probably going to get flamed.

that's what my RRA stripped lower looked like when I first got it... rub some CLP on it and I think you'll be pretty happy with the way it looks!

Add oil, then see how it turns out.

Looks like normal handling marks when combined with multiple lowers while being shipped.

Mine had them. Rem-oil\clp makes it look alot better.

CLP and a black cloth, rub it in and it will look nice.

whew... thanks all..now on with the show

I've used two Ameetec Arms lowers and they had perfect finishes and cost $25 less than RR. I'd be happy if I paid used price for what you've got but new should look new.

when your finished with the CLP, you might want to get some felt for your brass deflector

I put electrical tape on mine

I use felt but attach it with velcro so when it gets dirty I can switch it out with a nice clean piece. The green provides a pleasing contrast with the black rifle and seems so soothing.

A clean rifle is a happy rifle.

Mine looked like that also, as others have said CLP or other oil will clean it up. I suggest you wait to oil it until after you assemble it, as I like to put some tape on the receiver to protect the finish when installing the bolt release roll pin.

handling marks.

clp it
bag it
then hide it in the safe to keep it from this harsh enviroment we live it and the abuse firearms usually recieve.

I also buy those little self stick felt circles made to go on the bottom of lamps. They work great on the bolt face to prevent unsightly peening.

it looks fine just add a little oil.

But if you stick those on the bottom of each round it will protect the mag, bolt, deflector and keep the brass from dinging when it hits the ground.

Thats the way mine looks,no big deal.

CLP it and it will be fine.

I tried sticking some velcro on the bottom of each round, and I had multiple failures to feed and fire. I will try to find an extended firing pin to fix the problem. P.S. I could only get 27 rounds in my 30 round mag!

get some rem oil and wipe it down a few times

Looks fine to me. Type III Hard Coat anodizing is some tuff shyt, it scrathes other things like an abrasive.
