Hey guys I am in the process of building my first ar.

A couple of questions
1. Has anyone ordered a kit from model one?  I did a search on the board and came up empty.  I was thinking about their 16" CAR kit.

2. A dealer at a gunshow today had a Rock River upper entry a-4 or something like that compleate brand new for 340.00 flat top no cary handle is that a good deal seemed cheap to me.

3.  I have a stripped lower any suggestions on were to get a lower kit?  This gun will just be a plinker not a 1000' target gun and prob wont have all the rails and gadgets either

Thanks

1. I have ordered from Model 1, The shipping was slow and customer service was poor but that is my only complaint.  I have ordered form Del-Ton  ever since and would order from them again. www.del-ton.com Customer service was great, rifle quality is awesome and they ship fast.

2.  Here is a link to Rock River, that seems like a pretty good price. www.rockriverarms.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=AR0840X

3.  A lower parts kit will come with the rifle kit that you order from Del-Ton or model 1.
You could also get one from Brownells.

I had a bad experience with Model 1 roll pins.  They were too large and difficult to knock into place and ended up marring up the roll pin holes on one of my lowers.  The bolt catch was too large too and didn't slide freely.  I threw them away.  But all their other parts seem okay.  Roll pins should slide in with light tapping, but not the ones from Model 1.
