Anyone done this with carriers , and how much does this cost ? -  im thinking the business i send carrier to , should know guns , as the inside of carrier , where the bolt moves back & forth - is already chrome plated , and would have to be somehow plugged , so chrome would not build up in this area and screw up tollerances ? -- any references

Why don't you just buy one that is already chromed?

For what it would cost to have one done you would be better served to buy one already done by a manufacturer who does it.  When a shop/manufacturer does them in bulk it will be cheaper than to send it somewhere that it would be a one-off job.

Buy a Youngs Manufaturing chrome BCG and be done with it.
