The CMT uppers should be fairly close to the Doublestar lowers I've seen. If you want exact, you need to hand match them when you make the purchase, but most uppers should be pretty close.

Yeah you'd almost have ot see them to get real close.
Course my main carbine has a grey colt lower and a blackish lmt upper with a different color Knights rail.

My XM177 clone has been refinished, the upper was done in colt gray, while the lower was done in SOCOM/ matte black. They were done at two different times, and I like it enough that I won't change it. The matching color thing just doesn't matter to me. |

I just built my first AR. I used a double star lower and a kit from www.model1sales.com. Came out looking pretty good to me. At first the finish looked a little 'off', but I think that was due to some oil being on the upper and none on the lower. Since I've shot it and cleaned it, I can't tell a difference.

i have a recent production bushmaster a2 upper that is an almost exact match for a doublestar lower in both color and finish.

the finish varies even with the same manu. i have upper and lowers that came from the same comp that have slight variation in tint
