Well as the title says, I'm going to build my first AR.  I've decided on a M4 style, working on getting a lower from Tom Sawyer Mfg, and a barrel/upper receiver from Bravo Company.  Any advice for a first time builder?

Plan out exactly what you want to build, and how much it is going to cost. And also stock up on tools that are a must. Action Block (if that barrel doesnt come installed on the Upper), Armorers Wrench, Brass Punch Set are key tools, if you have the proper tools then building an AR is just an expensive adult version of lego's. Have Fun...its addicting.

Planning has been fun so far, I will be placing an order at Brownells for tools this week.

Have to agree with Optik.  Use the proper tools, read the tutorials, and build away.  There really isn't anything difficult about it.
