When installing the Buttstock Spring, which way does the spring get inserted? The weighted end to the rear of the buttstock or to the front?

What do you mean by buttstock spring?  Are you talking about the buffer spring/ main action spring?

If you're talking about the buffer stock spring, I don't think it matters.

At least not according to this page:

If you're talking about the buffer and spring, the buffer goes to the front.
