I'm about to replace a Bushy 20" HBAR w/ a 16" Superlight barrel. The Bushmaster probably has 600 or so rounds thru it. Is it necessary to replace the entire Bolt carrier group or bolt when switching barrels?

Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated.

There should be no reason not to use your existing bolt & carrier. If it were my rifle, I would check headspace just to be sure, but if it fails a headspace check, the solution is not another bolt. Good luck.

+1

After 600 rounds, that bolt isn't even fully broken in yet

I would put your bolt in the new barrel and go shooting.

If you need more reassurance do a search. There are quite a few posts on it.
