I just ordered a superlight barrel assembly from Bushmaster.  It comes with an A2 hider attached, my question in this:  Is it very difficult to remove the A2 flash hider in order to install a Smith flash hider?  Can it be done with just a upper black and a wrench?  Thanks in advance.

Mike

ETA:  I am looking to do the change after I mount the bbl to the upper.

You'd probably be better off not to try swapping flash suppressors while using an action block. Many recommend using barrel clamps. I personally just hold the rifle tight while wrenching the flash suppressor off.

How difficult is it to remove a flash suppressor?  Does it simply screw off?

Sorry I am new to this.

yes but if it's on a 14.5'' barrel it could be pinned or welded.
