Timed myself last night.  Built a lower, complete w/ stock in under nine minutes.  I did it all from memory, no instructions needed.  8 minutes, 35 seconds.

Well, I hope it was good for you....
I imagine the lower is just sitting there now thinking......
that was quick, and I didn't even get a 'Thank You'

That's pretty good, BUT in armorer's class there were a few of us that could strip a COMPLETE A2-stocked lower down to nothing and reassemble it in 10 minutes flat.

I built my first lower in 3 hours and i timed myself too. I messed up my rollpin on my trigger gaurd. I think the trigger gaurd roll pin is the most complicated part for a brand new lower receiver.

Try doing it in less than 10 minutes with the following 3 items

Bic lighter
Pliers
Roll of electrical tape.

Saw my 18 year old son do it, made me feel like wuss.

That's wonderful but why? What's your hurry?

I enjoy working on my guns. It's something I do to relax so I take my time and enjoy it (It's kind of like sex in that way )

To each there own I guess?

Had to take full advantage of the "MacGyver" method. While a lower can be assembled with less, you get bonus points for doing so with style. Hence the bic lighter. (an avocado or ink pen woudl be an acceptable replacement for the lighter. Style points remin unchanged)

Ok.... i give in. What was the bic for? a makeshift non-marring punch?

Correct!

It also helps if the pliers are the Combo-type witha screwdriver on the end of one of the handles
