On the pinned topic, "No more business bashing", does this mean we can't ask(or reply to)what experiences other forum members had with a certain vendor, as long as the replies are kept tactful and to the point, or is this just referring to blatant attacks on vendors that are in poor taste, with no supporting facts.

It would be a shame if other members can't relate their experiences as long as they are kept to the straight facts without personal opinion and judgments, whether those opinions be favorable or unfavorable.

I understand the situation you must have with your sponsors, and am not referring to them, but rather to to internet vendors that are not affiliated with this forum. I take a vendor afiliation with AR15.com to be an endorsement of that vendor. However it is very easy to become a victim of fraud when buying on the internet, and posts on this forum have been very helpful in guiding me in the right direction in many cases. It would be a great loss to see that go away, and without the ability to speak candidly (if tactfully), we are consigned to wandering blindly around the internet looking for AR parts and services using the trial and error method.

Please elaborate on what you mean by business bashing.

Thanks,

_DR

if u have issues with any vendors u must handle it by phone, email or letter. it is not correct to bash a business, it is correct for u to state u have a problem and then address it as instructed above.

FYI:  In the trouble-shooting forum, Tweak encourages posting names if you run across a part that is out of spec.  This allows the forum to trouble shoot a rifle faster by knowing if any kits that are being supplied by vendors have parts that may need to be fitted, or are a ongoing battle from the start and needs to be replaced by the vendor.

This allows knowable builders to pass on information of current supplied “out of spec parts”, or kits to those that are just starting and trouble shooting there first builds.

Note: Tweak does not take this allowance to the forum to slam suppliers; just to point of if there are problems in the current parts/kits offered.  If you have a personal problem with on of the vendors, then as Slasher has pointed out, we (as the readers) don’t really care to see/read a pissing match play out on the site.

As a non-mod,
  Just food for thought.
