Minigun,
Don't have any suggestions for a buffer tube cover cap, sorry. I am curious, how are you planning to buffer the bolt carrier when in recoil without a buffer tube? |

.22 LR conversions don't need a conventional AR buffer or spring other than to perhaps keep the "converter" pushed forward into the upper receiver. Each conversion is retained differently. All the recoiling takes place within the "converter".
