Wingman-You can locate dealers a number of ways. Gunsamerica has a list [url]http://www.gunsamerica.com/transfer.cgi[/url]

You could also call local gunshops and ask how much they charge for a transfer. I would guess they are going to tell you something around $ 20. It is more in some areas, the NYC area, California etc. Some FFLs are a little porky about doing it, but you should find someone happy to do it.


You could also check on the Hometown forum here for your state as someone on this site probably already has a lead on who to go to in your area.

Also the dealer may have FFLs on list in your area if you call them. Most dealers who do business over the net keep FFLs on file for various areas. When I bought a rifle from Impact Guns they sent me a list of FFLs in my area.

The way I do it is I order to lower or gun. I contact the seller directly and I pay him directly. I then go to my FFL and get a signed copy of his FFL (NOT a copy) and mail it to the seller. Then when the lower/gun arrives the dealer calls me. It is worth getting a tracking number so you know when the lower is going to arrive. Some people have their FFL give them a couple of signed copies of their FFL so they can mail them out without running out to the shop.
