Is there any big difference in durability of different manufacturer's of springs for the hammer/trigger group?  If so, which are best?

Boeboe, If you dont mind Ill tag along on your thread and add the question: What are your experences with "reduced power" hammer and trigger springs and which if any brands do you guys prefer?....Thanks boeboe for letting me piggyback here...BTW My best buddys nickname is "BOBO" lol.UNDERDOG

JP springs kit is what I've been using.  John Gangle of JP had these for many years before others.  This kit contains the exact springs as packaged in his match trigger kit that many action shooters are using.  Get one, you won't regret it.

Forgot one thing, if you are going to use the lighter hammer spring, beware that you MIGHT NOT GET CONSISTENT IGNITION of surplus ammo. There are two fixes - get a light weight hammer from JP - for about 4-5 pds pull, or just use the std hammer spring for about 5-6 lbs pull.   Still a heck of alot better than the std grade setup.

My adjustable trigger kit from JP is running about 3 lbs, and it is sweet!
