Being a hobbyist machinist, I have to say that's some really beautiful machine work.

Very high cool factor, too!

I'd like to hear that this is made from a 7075 forged blank, but it's probably milled from non-forged stock, which is all right but represents a slight loss in strength.

Starts out as a 7lb block of billet aluminum and cut down on a 4 axis CNC

Saw them at a gun show this weekend. Dealer said that finish was called clear annodized. He said they have a polished version also. I looked at the ones he had and liked what I saw. Very sturdy, slightly heavier than mil-spec, and way high on the cool factor. he had one that looked like it was made from brass. Very nice. Only the price was a little higher than mil-spec. Around $200. Lowers around here go for $125-150.

that's a nice looking lower!  are they limited or something?

does the bolt catch pin go in on the front?  or is it open to tap it out like a normal lower?

As far as i know they are a current production receiver not limited. Go to there website and check them out

I found them on Gunbroker.com for 259.00us I chatted with two guys that use this receiver and they say nothing but good things about it. I am still waiting email back from socom themselves for some detailed info on how the trigger adjusting actually works
