Hello all,

For a very long time I have wanted to build my own AR15 style gun, but since I live in California that has been an impossibility. I recently heard about the FAB10 lower receiver and its acceptance by the CA-DOJ. I have two questions for the group.

First is I cannot seem to find a distributor that has a complete FAB10 lower receiver kit. Would the "Complete Lower Receiver Parts Kit" from Bushmaster work for the FAB10?
http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/lowers/alowkit.asp

Second does anyone have an opinion on a Skeleton stock versus a Fixed Tele-Style Stock?

Thanks.

Almost any gunshow I go to nowadays in California has someone selling complete or stripped lower. That's probably a good place to start. I've assembled lower from JT part kits and they seen to work fine with FAB 10. You should get the special rear take down pin from Watson's http://www.watsonsweapons.com/50boss.htm Since you will need to do it a lot of times. The only problem with stock parts I have is with match triggers, it seems the pins are not perfectly mil-spec and I had problem installing RRA match trigger (2nd stage missing sometimes). RRA support people claim this is a common problem with FAB10 lower. Finally, since you don't have an assault rifle any more (both federal and state). Why not go for a collasible stock ? As long as your barrel is 16 inch and your rifle has total length more than 30 inches, you can put as many evil features as you want in FAB 10.

Any lower receiver parts kit will work with the FAB-10. I just completed my 16" carbine last week with a FAB-10. Truthfully, by using one of these lower receivers, you get to omit some of the assembly steps, ie. bolt catch, mag catch. It's EXTREMELY easy to assemble, however, if you're dead set on getting your hands on a complete FAB-10 lower, check out http://www.faxworldcom.com/lg This is who I purchased my receiver from.
