Is it difficult to remove an A2 front sight base? I want to install freefloat tubes on a couple of rifles and need to take off the sight bases and then reinstall them after I change out the handguards. The pins are tapered right? which side are they inserted from?
All suggestions and opinions welcomed and appreciated!

Looking down the barrel normally, the taper pins go out, from left to right, and reinstall in reverse.

The pins tap out easy with the right size punch, don't sweat it.  It is simple.

Thanks y'all... is a set of barrel vise blocks needed or canI do it successfully on the bench with wood blocks for a rest?
