Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - building pistol cal. uppers. need advice

I would like to build a 9mm pistol caliber upper for my rifle.  I have built lowers in the past, but never and upper.  What do I need to know and what parts are needed to complete this project?  Also, what about mags?  What kind do I need and what type of mag well block is used?  Thanks for the input.

Don't want to make you feel bad, but you can buy em cheaper than you can build em. I bought a brand new RRA 9mm upper 10 months ago from a RRA dealer for $415.
