Well I have good news for you!

The XH30 is a thing!

XH30

Personally I want an X300 based XH30. Basically an XH30 without the low output or strobe mode; preferably one that fits in all the current X300 holsters.
Hopefully it hits retailers some time this year.

I'll be an early adopter.
I hope it comes down the pipe sooner rather than later. I'm holding out for the simpler X300ish version, which I dont even know if it's coming, but I have my fingers crossed.

Yeah, it would be nice if they made a version without compatibility for their stupid Masterfire that NO ONE wants or uses.

Read through some of the posts here. Came to say Surefire is a top notch company, and I will buy nothing else. They are proud of their products, and their prices show this. But I'll be damned if I use anything else. Personal and operational experience (before I knew better) has shown lesser lights --wont mention any particular company(s)-- do NOT come close to dependability, construction OR warranty as Surefire.

No, I am not endorsed by them.

P.S. How many Lumens do you need? All of them. No such thing as too much light....turds.

I drank the Surefire Kool Aid for years, I have over $2,000 worth of Surefire lights..,,,NO MORE!

Now I’ll only purchase their weapons lights, for hand held lights I purchase Fenix. They are DEPENDABLE, they cost quite a bit less, and they ARE A HELL OF LOT BRIGHTER !!!!

I do have ONE Fenix hand held, but I cannot recall off the top of my head which one. However, it has been very dependable and I am impressed with it. However it is only for personal use, not operational use.

It had been mounted on a rifle for a short period of time to see if it could handle the abuse, and its still ticking.

Which models of Surefire failed you?

There are only a handful of actual WML companies.  Streamlight is trash. You do the math.

Guardian M6 it would burn through 6 123 batteries in 20 minutes and throw a whopping 500 Lumens
Centurion C3 w/the first Gen LED Head (bright as a small candle)
I had a M900, it was a HEAVY PIG.

So, no failures, just ate batteries and not bright enough or too heavy...

What's better, then?

FWIW, I'm talking about real WMLs, like the M900.

Actually I had a failure of a M951, when I called Surefire they had me stretch the spring.

I have 25 Fenix TK41’s issued to my employees and after two years there are ZERO issues! The prior TK40 had issues with the switch, but the TK41 has been FLAWLESS! 900
Lumens and a price of just over $100.00 ea.

I'm with you now. We're not even remotely talking about the same things.

I'm talking about WMLs, you're talking about handhelds.

I totally agree that there are much better options for handhelds. There simply aren't any for WMLs, though.

My EDC is a Nitecore P12.

As I stated somewhere in this thread, no one has a tape switch that’s even remotely on the level of Surefire.

As I also stated I will probably purchase this new light simply because it uses 18650 batteries. I will in all probability also change the head out for a custom unit.

Sorry brotha. I used the 1k lumen fenix on duty for a while. The SF fury dft is hands down a better light. The streetlight hlx is a better light. Fenix was a solid choice for a while, but right now, it's my 3rd choice.

Wondering how an M600 thread became a "Surefire's handhelds are overrated" thread.

Who gives a shit about standalone lights?

This is ar15.com, not pocket lights.com.

Back on topic, now have an M600DF on both my primary rifle and my primary shotgun. And yes, I know my rifle setup is decidedly outside of current Arfcom vogue and more like 2010 era. NFG. It works for me, I like it.

Mine is also now on my new go-to rifle now that the stamps finally came back:

I like the Cloud LCS so far too, beats tape that's for sure.

THe only downside is when I have my thumb up there it appears in the bottom of the Eotech window.

My walls are white and I don't a bunch of splashback at night like some people were saying.  There is a noticeable shadow from my suppressor though but the farther out the light reaches the less noticeable it is.

FYI. The DF Scout head will not fit on legacy Scout lights. In order to accommodate the 18650 batteries the head and body of the DF scout are wider than the legacy scouts lights which only accepted 123 batteries.

Damn nice deal.  Basically, you get the mount for $10 and that's BEFORE the discount.  They didn't have any when I ordered mine or I would have got it from them since I got my mount from them as well.

Been waiting to pick one up since they were reviewed by Recoil, so quite awhile.  Has more spill than the markoff(sp?) head on an arisaka body and a longer throw.  I love it. It's the tits and kills the orginal scout I used in the shit hole.

Hi guys, I need some schooling on the rechargeable 18650s batteries. How long does it take to fully charge the 18650? And how long will it hold the charge? Can I leave a charged 18650 inside a vehicle during the summer and winter? What is typical life of the 18650 before it need to be replace?

Please share any strategies that you are going to apply for using this new SF 600DF lights with your weapon, this new rechargeable 18650 on the weapon light is all new to me. Thanks in advance.

Depending on your charger it takes less than 12 hrs typically.

It holds a charge for probably 6 months depending on the quality of the battery.

My advice is to check it every 30 days when left in a hot/cold car.
