Does anyone know if Surefire loctites the screws on the mounts for their series of weapon lights?
For example, I have a M962C with the ARMS throw lever and I want to know if the screws in the ARMS mount were loctited. If they weren't, I will do so for insurance. But if they are, I don't want to make the mistake of getting them out because them I'll have to clean them and reapply it.  Thanks. |

mine were when I swapped them out to the larue mount, had to use a little heat to get one and the other one just required some force

Yes, SF uses threadlocker on the ARMS 17 mounts though on occassion we have seen a few that didn't. What's bad is that they don't use threadlocker on the M49 (dual thumbscrew mount) attachment screws, if you have M951/961/971/981 it is advisable to check the two small mount screws. If you find them loose or want to go ahead and apply Loctite as a prevention only use 222 (purple) for these screws because if you decide to change to an ARMS or LaRue mount later the small hex heads can strip out.
