Anybody have any experience with this light? Would it function ok as a weapons light on my AR?

The M6 is a nice light but my personal preference for an inexpensive light for weapons mounted use is the Surefire G2 Nitrolon. With the Surefire light you have the option of adding a Z32 shock isolated bezel to better guard against recoil related lamp failure. You also have more options to accessorize the G2/Surefire lights such as the P61 high output lamp (120 lumens), Z48/49 clicker switch, tape switches, and currently the 1W KL3 LED head [i](but hopefully the 5W LED head will be released in the coming months.)[/i]

I've been browsing candlepowerforums.com, and apparently SF tailcap switches can be used on the M6. Also, there are 5W LED modifications available for the M6, which members there have been raving about. I'm curious as to how the light with the 5W mod would function as a weapon light.

The Pelican M6 is an amazing flashlight bargain!
It out throws the Surefire 6P, replacement lamps are cheaper, and it comes with a belt sheath. I'll take a $29.00 M6 over a $50.00 6P any day. |

I use a G2 as a cheap weapons light on my AR.
I prefer the matte, non-reflective coating on the G2 over the shinier black aluminum finish on the 6P. Looks like the Pelican M6 is aluminum, and would have a shinier finish than the G2. |
