I have a chance to buy a PVS2 night vision scope like the ones that Springfield Armory sells, for a good price.  I'm looking for info on this item.....is it good, crap, not bad......what will it do?   Anyone out there own one, or have used one with advice...it's desperately needed....

if you are willing to do some reading,,go to the usnv website, they have a forum that talks about nv stuff, there were posts of those that had the pvs 2 really liking it , while its heavy and larger than most units now days, it still has some of the finest optics available in it, which make it work so well, the 2 will bloom bad in a urban environment, has the typical 1rst gen quirks ,but,,, a decent bang for the buck, but not over 500 bucks,,,,
