draw a tight outline of the gear w/ a sharpie, use a serrated bread knife, electric knife or hot wire cutter if you have access to one, or feel like making one, to do the cutting.

Looks great!

Are there 3 layers of foam? 1 on the lid and 2 in the case? Or is the case a solid piece?

All that expensive equipment and then an airsoft red dot sight?

Dace,

The red dot sight you think is from airsoft is a SPOT sight I got from Grant @ G&R.  After buying an ACOG for my M4gery and building my 1928 Navy Prototype Thompson SBR, I just didn't have the scratch for an Aimpoint.  The SPOT will do just fine for a while.  I was going to get an Aimpoint this month but I am looking at the Springfield XD-45ACP instead.  Just can't seem to get my priorities straight.

I was just like "damn thousands of dollars in guns and equipment in that case and then an asian red dot sight.

But I can understand the priorities thing.  Seems like I am always buying the guns and never the accessories to finish those guns.

Since you are in PA, I'll give you an important tip on cutting the foam- leave it outside when the temperature drops below freezing.  The colder the better.  The foam will be easier to cut straight and perpendicular when "frozen."  I wish I had known that trick for my starlight foam.  You could of course put it in a freezer if you have one big enough...
