I was wondering how this scope works if you zero it at 100 yards instead of 200?  I'm thinking about purchasing one and mounting it on a 16" Faxon Flame Fluted barrel with Aero upper and lower.

What's your cartridge and  muzzle velocity?

ETA: I'm guessing you only have a 100 yard range to shoot at? If so a 100 yard zero and 3 clicks higher in elevation should do just fine.

Thanks for the info.  My barrel is a 16" 5.56 and I was just wondering before purchasing this scope.  The range goes out to 300 yards but I'm using it for hog hunting so shots won't be that far.

Yeah if you wanted to zero just to have the cross hairs line up at 100 it'll be a decent bit off for the BDC with M193 or M855 but for plinking at the range and you could just add the 1.5 MOA when you want to the BDC to be on.

Strelok tells me that if you zeroed for 100 yards and you're shooting Xm193 going 3000fps, your drops would be:

260y
360y
450y
535y

Thanks, I think I'll go ahead and purchase the scope.  I found a deal for $589 with detachable mount.

I'm going to pull the trigger on one.  Debating if I should go with Aero lightweight mount or Midwest Ind. QD.

I purchased Areo's extended SPR mount and it fits nicely with my Aero upper and lower.

I zeroed mine at 100 yards. I haven't tried out the BDC yet, but Strelok is very optimistic. With my ammo/barrel/altitude/climate, in general I should be at most 2.2" low (300,400,500,600). I ran through the numbers using the subtensions from Steiner and an M193 drop table spat out from a ballistic calculator, and verified Strelok's estimates by hand.

It's been easy to get hits out to 230 yds so far. When I get a chance I'll take it out further, but there aren't many ranges past 100 in my area.

That sounds great, I'm debating on doing either a 50 yard zero or 200.
