That shelf doesn't normally have ammo on it, just empty range bags. Loaded up some ammo on them for the pics and didn't realize how bad it was sagging til after I took the pics. |

What are your thoughts on the reticle so far? I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the 3-15 version. I sold my Steiner 4-16 last year because it was just to big and the mil-dot reticle was to bulky for precision work. The T5Xi series seem really promising. |

So was this real Rochester NY Bausch & Lomb Balvar 5 from the 1950s in B&L QD mount with adjustments in the base. It is on a Remington 725 in .280 Rem. I still hunt with it on occasion, although the collectors value limits its field use now. Apologies for the nostalgia, but these were uber premium scopes when new. |

Ive always been curious why people put a doc optic on an elcan 1-4? Clone correctness?

Seriously, I just wanted to try is and the elcan had the mount already, I don't know that I'll keep it. I didn't do it because of clone correctness but because the eyebox on the specterdr isn't very forgiving, I love the optic but that is one drawback. A MRDS gives you the advantage of being able to position your head anywhere you can see the dot, I know many complain about the height over bore but for me the only time I feel I'd use the docter is in awkward positions where a cheek weld ins't going to be an option anyhow. Plus it is a backup, i have the elcan too far back to use a BUIS, not that I can imagine a scenario where the elcan would be put out of commission and the rest of the rifle would still work but it is another piece of redundancy. |
