HI,
I bought a lnib ARMS 40 off of the ee, and Im wondering what the trick is with this slotted nut they use to clamp the thing down. By the time I tighten it with a screwdriver, the threaded crossbar pops through the nut and I cant tighten it any more. Its still pretty loose.
Before I get out the vice grips, someone want to help me out?

Is this an ingenious built-in idiot guard to prevent over torqueing or am I just a 'tard?

Olyeller,

I have put many of them on and I have never had that problem before, I guess it is possible that the bolt is out of spec and may be a little too long, you might try contacting ARMS, I am sure they will take care of it for you. What part of OK are you in?

screw the crossbar a turn or two farther into the clamp before attaching the nut.

thread it in further on the other side so it doesnt get in the way of the slotted nut if not get a bigger screwdriver.
