does anyone have any trouble using amber shooting glasses and an amber reticle from an acog

It should be no problem. An amber reticle will look white when seen through amber glasses. There would be a problem with blue, since that would be filtered out by amber glasses and would effectively disappear. I haven't tried this since I don't own an ACOG, but it's a straightforward application of optics and color perception.

The only similar experience I have is in a photographic dark room. In red light everything red is invisible, or not visible to discern. Might be different in sunlight. I used to have some yellow shooting glasses. They made dayglow orange jump out (sporting clays, safety orange hunting vests). Also, IIRC, greens were more visible. Can't recall how they affected yellow objects, but I think they wo9uld still be visible. Best I can do.
