What height do I get? Never scoped an AR before and I don't have any extra 30mm rings laying around.

HELP!

Badger High or Super High depending on your preferred check weld.

Just for the sake of a visual:

Badger Super High, 50mm objective.

Don't believe you need high rings with the MR/T 3-9X36. Try the SEI MIL STD 1913 0.50" Med HD rings, NSN 1005-01-535-4423, P/N 7018. They are now being supplied for a good many military SPR's.
Depending on your handguard set up their 0.25" Low NSN 1005-01-535-4417 rings might be a tad too low for a flattop AR/M16.

How about a LaRue SPR or equivilent mount?

A 1.5 Larue SPR would serve you well. If you want more height from the upper, I'd get a 1.93 Larue SPR

Not to dissent, but my arms high 30mm qd's have worked well for the last 3 years...

they're fine rings unto themselves, certainly more than capable.

Larue mount is what I prefer for this scope, it just seems to look right and it works right.

Depends on your budget and available rings at that moment. I wanted the LaRue SPR mount for my Leuplod Mk 4 3-9x36mm MR/T M3 but nobody had them at that moment when I was finishing my build, so I got ARMS "high" mounts to clear my Troy BUIS. The ARMS work great, but the LaRue will be replacing it soon enough....

Found a set of Burris XTR High rings to try out....they were free, just have to go pick them up tomorrow. We'll see how it goes!
