Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Thread size on an LMT BUIS?

I'd like to replace the huge knob/nut on the mount with a small locknut.  Can anyone tell me the thread size?

I replaced mine with either an M5 or M6 metric nut (can't remember which, exactly).

Don't quote me but I believe it's 1/4-28. When I replaced mine I took the sight with me to work and simply rooted through our parts bin till I found a suitable nut. I'm in aviation, we only stock SAE so I know the nut is not metric thread.
