I did the required search and came up empty on Nikon spotting scopes...Are any of you using or have you used Nikon's in the past ??? If so what are your likes and dislikes ??? I'm kind of clueless as to what I need, as of now my clubs range goes out to 350m and .223 is the "smallest" hole I will be looking for at that range....Thanks

I use a Nikon "Tactical", which is really just an all black version of their Fieldscope III ED. Awesome scope, can resolve .223 holes in white paper at 200 yds, the farthest range I have easy access to.

You can find some info here: www.betterviewdesired.com/BVD701/index.html

I have the Nikon 20-60X80 Sky and Earth spotting scope. I use it in High Power matches from 200 to 600 yards, standing, sitting and prone.

I am very pleased with the scope, excellent construction, fine optics and great controls.

But let me set your expectations; you will NOT realiably see holes at 300 yards, actually you will probably not see them except under extraordinary circumstances. I am not aware of any spotting scope that will do that, at least one that a normal person can afford and that is luggable to the range.

The 6mmbr.com site has a pretty decent review of some scopes and links.
