Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Zeiss Z sight

  Anyone seen or tried this new sight. Saw it in the new Cabelas catalog and it looked interesting. Supposedly similar to Reflex but is fiber optic and battery powered. Any info. appreciated.

According to Cabela's, it isn't fiber-optic, but photo-electric, like solar-powered calculators. Interesting idea. After looking at their pic, and the measuements, it looks like it MIGHT need to be mounted on a riser for cowitness on a flattop. I hope somebody buys one and posts a detailed review of it.

I believe this is the same sight that is used on the new HK MP7.

I believe you are correct. There is a relationship between companies on other sights.
I am aware of several failures of this sight in field use on several weapons.

The latest one I handled (last month) appeared to be the same and there was no notification of improvements over previous versions that I am aware of.
