I have a TA-11 but I think I may want to move to a TA-31...

Where is a good place to buy from?

Is the chevron reticle considered superior to the donut in terms of accuracy?

Try csgunworks.com. I just picked up a TA11C for 845.78 today. Prices are very good.

SWFA and ADCO both have them in stock. ADCO has the better price, but I didnt find that out until I ordered from SWFA...but right now I dont care because Im just waiting for the UPS guy to show up tonight [:D]

TA31A shouldn't be too hard to find. But as far as I know TA31 and TA31F seems to be very hard to find. I've placed an order on TA31 on 2nd day of June and haven't received it yet.

My TA31 showed up from SWFA in 3 days.

I saw some TA31s and TA31as on gunbroker.com yesterday.

I asked SWFA for TA31 several times about the availability of TA31 donut and it seems they never had it when I asked. Lumpy, when you did get it?

Ordered it on the 7th...it got here at 1830hrs PST on the 11th.

I ordered a Donut for a friend from SWFA just a day behind your order. I ordered one the 8th. I guess I will see it by Wednesday. Maybe I will mounted on my gun and shoot it for awhile. [;)]. Jk, if my friend is reading this.

You could have paid for mine [:P] The cool part was the ARMS 19S arrived the same day. Neil, I'll let you know tomorrow when I take this bad boy out for a test run [;)]

I ordered my TA31 from Sableco. Time from order to time in my hands, two days.

...eh WHAT!? Did you order on August 7/8th? Two months of waiting is in vain it seems. I ordered mine from Sableco on early June, and they said they were getting 31As but not 31 or 31Fs. (It looks like I am the designated idiot of the day)

Not really, I discovered the day I ordered mine I could have saved $40 at ADCO...if they still have them in stock.
Link Posted: 8/11/2003 11:43:19 PM EDT
It seems like ADCO only has TA31As listed on their web catalog. (Triangles)

Hey Lumpy, still gonna be touting the virtues of the Aimpoint now you went "big bucks"? BTW-looks great! Jealousy is the basest of human emotions!

Thank you, and why yes I am. The Aimpoint will go back on, and as soon as my flat-top 20" govt profile upper gets here from Bushmaster the TA31 will go on that. [:D] Aimpoint rules.

Thats it. No more business with them. What a f'ing fool I am. Ok I just placed order on CS gunworks. Their shipping isn't cheap but their price on ACOG is really good.

Yea, shipping is a little steep, but the prices CANNOT be beat. The service has been outstanding. I will be doing lots of business with CS Gunworks. If you want some help call and ask for Mike. He has been invaluable to me and all of my stupid questions.

Sableco and the they have been running their business has made me drop them to the bottom of my list because stories on this board AND personal transaction with them, still waiting on my refund, discount, and part of my order here, 5 months later, no order, no replys nothing

StormSurge, I was wondering why you would want to move to a 31 from an 11. Could you tell me what the advantage would be. Thanks FB

Ditto. I was wondering the same. I'm trying to decide between the 31 and 11 also. My application is on an M4 flattop. Primary use will be 3gun match competition. Targets can range from 10yds to 200yds. I was thinking the longer eye relief and lower power of the TA11 may provide for quicker target acquisition. I'm also a little stumped on which reticle. It seems the chevron is designed for the flattop. --RR

Get the TA-11 if you are looking for a general purpose optic for both CQB and extended range shooting. I wanted an ACOG more skewed to long range firing: more magnification, sharper reticle...plus being smaller and lighter (by two inches in length and four ounces)...The TA-31F will be going on a 20" medium weight barrel (with KAC 600m BUIS) and on my 14.5" lightweight barrel with M68 Aimpoint (with 300m KAC BUIS)will be my CQB weapon. For these two projects I was unsatisfied with the barrel configurations (profiles/diameters)sold "as is" and am having my gunsmith turn down two Bushmaster H-Bars to optimum profiles...
