TA-31 and TA-11.  Toying with the idea is getting a TA-31 or a compact ACOG w/triangle reticle .

Wish the TA-31 had a little more eye relief or the TA-11 was not as big.

IMO there's no better optic for the FAL than the TA01B. Standard equipment on mine.

Is the military still using the nsn or are they switching to the 11 and 31?

I went for the 3x compact ACOG as I wanted something smaller that became a part of the rifle rather than something hung off of it. Smaller and lighter is always better in my book.

I have a NSN but it is supplemented with a Docter red dot sight on top.  The red dot is fast in close without any eye relief or feild of view problems, while the fine cross hairs of the NSN serve me well out to 600 meters.  I would never trade it for a BAC acog.

Had the NSN, switched to the 31F.  Have never looked back.  The 31 is sooooooooo much better!

I have the TA11 donut and am very satisfied with it.

Unfortunately my budget is only for ONE ACOG, so I chose the TA11 because I wanted BAC, and I liked the idea of the longer eye relief.  I didn't acutally do a head to head comparison when I bought mine, because I couldn't find anyone with both the TA31 and the TA11, so I made my selection based on the advertised specs.  However, I'm sure that any ACOG w/ BAC would satisfy my needs well.

I have also used the compact ACOGs and like them a lot.  I would like to get one to possibly replace the CompM on another carbine, but that's a lot of money for a low power piece of glass.

You saw mine on your 20" post.

I have the ta01. It is what I need for the my intended purposes. Medium-long range percision, I like the cross hairs for this.

Plus I got a great deal on it ($450 with FT mount).

I'd sure love to try a TA31 of any flavor, though. They're scarce in these parts.

Here's a closer pic.

TA01, TA11 and TA31A.  I like the TA11 best because of the increased eye relief.

I didn't mess around and went straight for the TA31 and haven't looked back. Best ACOG they make in my opinion.

Ta31 on a Bushie A3's handle. Works for Me!

What's the difference between a 31 & a 31a? Have I missed something?

Smudge, there are 3 TA31 models.
TA31: donut reticle
TA31A: triangle reticle
TA31F: chevron reticle with TA51 flat top adapter

I have a compact TA47-2 that I bought mostly because it was a bargain I couldn't pass on ($375, ANIB). I initially used it on the carry handle of my 9mm 635 shorty upper; nowadays, it's on a TA-60 mount on my M4A3 upper.

The triangle reticle is great; for me, the BAC system works best with low-power magnification, and most of my shooting is fairly close-in anyway.

The only downside is the amber can be a PITA -- I do a lot of shooting from the shade into the bright Florida sunshine, and it gets lost easily in those conditions. Trijicon says for only $250 they will change it to any reticle I want..... [;)]

Thanks Antonio, It's been so long since I've shopped for one I had forgotten... I'd hate to think it's age creeping up...

I have the TA01. I do not like the busy retical.

I will be buying a TA31 for my flat top.  I looked at Pauls 3x Compact ACOG which looks like a great optic for a lightweight 16" A2.

Just purchased a TA11, I think its a great optic but im thinking of trading it for a TA31. I think the smaller TA31 would fit my needs the best.
