Ok, I may be asking for it, but here goes.  I need your recommendations for your favorite scope and reticle pattern for a high end bench/varmint custom AR.  

Most recently regularly shot rifle, Shilen Rem 700 .308 Leupold Mark 4.

Check out the new Nikon 6.5-20x44AO illuminated reticle or the similar Leupold models.  If you don't need that much scope, go for a 4.5-14 of either brand, you'll be happy with any of these.

For precision work, I prefer the 6.5-20 though, I can see the inside of the bull better.
