I was told in the previous thread that the C-Defense Products were the go to magazines.

I'm seeing both the 20 round and 30 round mags.

Oddly, the 30's cost less than the 20s...   But the 30's have the weird hog leg bend to them...

Just curious if people with the 30's have experienced jams or less reliability Vs. the 20s?

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I'd read the same recommendations for CPD. I ordered a couple 30s for my new 7.62x39 upper. GTG so far. Unlike the upper.

I have CPD, AR Stoner, Windham, ASC. All reliable. One doesnt actually hold 30 cant remember which. For a fighting carbine, the 30s are great. My x39 stays set up as a mini DMR. so i am fixing to grab a few 20's. The short mags work better off a bipod.
As for the weird curve. The 7.62x39 cartridge is shaped like s cone. If you layed 20 of em on a table side to side, you would see why that curve was needed.
Love my x39 AR. Taking it with me this weekend on a 90 mile 4x4 trail ride. Goto gun when brass recovery dont matter.

I just finished this budget hunting build last week - ALG blem sale rail, AIM sale Faxon barrel, Right To Bear Arms Supply 7.62x39 bolt and enhanced pin.

I chose C Product Defense 20 round mags. I chose 20 rounders because they would still fit the pouches I use. The followers are anti-tilt - actually have 7.62x39 molded into the follower.

I've only put one mag of Tula Ammo through it to function test it yesterday. No issues. Bolt locked open after the last round.

All I can say is I would stay away from ASC if I were you.

CPD 28 rounders are a good compromise for the ugliness of the 30rd ones, losing only 2rds of capacity. Mine have been completely reliable.

I have 3 ASC mags. One 30 and two 20rders. All work fine. One 20 had the follower stick a little when I first loaded it. Rounds were loose but it worked itself out after a couple loadings. YMMV

Tested out some CPD mags today (x39) a 5 round, 10 round and a 20 round. Only 112 rounds so not exhaustive but I had zero malfunctions.

CPD is the way to go - in any capacity.
